Inge Bremer-Trueman

Inge Bremer-Trueman was born in Germany and grew up in Edmonton. As a young adult she lived in Fort McMurray and Kenya. She eventually ended up in Calgary with a husband and two children. She was the proudest grandmother ever and suffered no qualms giving unsolicited advice, which is of course the right of every grandparent, especially when their addled brain is incessantly interrupted with outbursts like “Make me noodles!”

Inge was a member of the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society. Along with a handful of dedicated wine-swilling local writers, she helped produce Writing in the Works, an annual reading event that showcased authors’ about-to-be released books, works in progress, or works on the prowl for a publisher.

A Root Beer Season, released in 2013, was her first novel in the Sonja Pfeiffer Series. Its sequel, When the Wheels Fall Off, was released in September 2015 and followed the further misadventures of Sonja as she tackled romance, marriage and drag racing. Winging It, released in March 2017, was the third in the series and followed the feisty protagonist to Fort McMurray where she found a new kind of adventure in the world of aviation and bush pilots.

Inge fought an on-going battle to clean up her vocabulary which tended to lean, like autumn trees in the wind, towards the wildly colourful.
